As would be expected in a country parish, people are involved in a wide variety of work. There are a good number of people working on the farms or with horses, either directly employed or working as subcontractors. Also there are a number of small businesses based in the parish. Some residents are self-employed such as - secretarial, accountancy, graphic design - and a number of retired men who do odd jobs for householders in the village. Many travel to work in Oakham and in the cities of Leicester, Peterborough and Nottingham. A growing number commute to London, by train from Peterborough or Kettering and there is an increasing percentage who work from home using electronic connections to their companies.
